Niall was born on September 13, 1993 in Mullingar, County Westmeath, Republic of Ireland

Mother"s name is Maura, his father is Bobby and he has an older brother, named Greg, 23 years old.

Niall"s parents divorced when he was 5 years old.

He"s a former student of a boys" Christian Brothers school – Coláiste Mhuire

Niall has been playing guitar since childhood and referred to it as the best present he ever received for Christmas.

He"s been performing around his homeland and been part of Lloyd Daniels in Dublin as support act prior to joining X-Factor

In his audition for The X Factor 7th series, he performed the song, "So Sick". He was sent to the boot camp after getting 3 votes out and sang "Champagne Supernova". Niall failed to qualify and later became a member of One Direction.
